The blazer: A versatile must-have!
How to wear the blazer with style?
The blazer is an essential piece to the feminine wardrobe. It is very versatile and even very easy to wear on a daily basis. We often forget its potential. We all have an idea of what a piece seems to be and sometimes we don't think of wearing it differently. If you need ideas on how to wear your blazer, keep reading this article!
CLOSED AS A TOP
You can simply wear your button-down blazer or belt it without anything underneath. You can also wear it with a deep V neck top under it which gives the illusion of having nothing underneath. For this, you need a blazer that is a little flexible and not too thick. Definitely something to test for your next evening outing!
WITH A SKIRT
You can wear your shorter skirts with a straight, slightly manly blazer and then add sneakers or flats. This makes the outfit less sexy and more wearable on a daily basis. But you can also wear your blazer with longer skirts. Satin skirts as well as those with little retro flowers work very well with it. Just pay attention to the proportions so that it's not too tight, too long nor too wide, you might look "drowned" in your outfit.
WITH A DRESS
Blazers work perfectly with dresses! Mini, long, bohemian, midi, retro, floral… The blazer goes with all styles of dresses! Even with evening ones, which often brings a bit more modern edge to the final outfit. The blazer is a piece from the male wardrobe so it goes very well with more feminine pieces.
WITH BASIC PIECES
Your favorite blazer will go wonderfully with all your basic pieces: like the simple white t-shirt, a man's shirt, a fluid blouse, your jeans to elevate the casual appearance. You can wear it with printed t-shirts or a rock t-shirt for a chic outfit with a little grungy edge. The most successful outfits are often matching opposites together: Chic/rock, feminine/masculine, chic/casual...
The blazer is also stylish with denim shorts or a little more elegant shorts. The blazer “covers” a little more when you wear something short (as long as it sits well under the buttocks). Blazers that are too short and overly fitted don't really have the same effect. But if the blazer is chosen with a more masculine cut and longer, it will make these pieces sexy, and easier to wear on a daily basis. Especially if you're afraid of doing too much or showing too much skin. Wear your shorts with a blazer that is straight and not too fitted to accentuate that masculine/feminine contrast.
It's impossible to go wrong when mixing a blazer with jeans. It doesn't matter what the fit of the jeans is: straight, slim, flare, bootcut… they all go with the blazer. You can go with your eyes closed and it's a good wildcard when you don't know what to wear. It’s an everyday “uniform”. You can pair it with sneakers for a chic yet relaxed look, but you can also wear it with pumps, sandals, heeled ankle boots, or even combat boots for a more rock vibe.
WITH A MATCHING BOTTOM: SUIT STYLE
You can wear the blazer with a bottom of the same color or as a suit for an event. It's even possible casually with a pair of sneakers. It’s a timeless combination that has been coming back in force for a few seasons now.
ONE MORE TIP:
Be creative with the choice of your blazer! It doesn't always have to be plain black. Dare to wear it in different colors, materials, and even patterns. The most important feature is THE CUT!
